There is this girl that I like, we have not seen each other for about 2 years and we have just met each other at a common friend's birthday party. I did not have the courage to talk to her except saying Hello. She has recently texted me to the birthday, I want to do something for her eventhough I could not make it to her party. I also have the urge to flirt with her through text, but I do not know what to talk about. Please can anybody give me some advice? I have not had any girlfriend in the past therefore I do not have any experience in this sort of things. We are both 21 years old.

The real issue here, as you admit, is your lack of courage. It shouldn't be that difficult to respond to text messages -- all it takes is some basic communication skills.
I suggest you start by sharing what you're doing and asking what she is doing and is interested in. Doing this by text is a good start, as is email, but you will eventually have to graduate to the phone and then in-person. If this requires more "courage" than you think you have, then you may need to take a deeper look at what is preventing you from socializing with members of the opposite sex.
