1. Make the switch. Before you can bond with your babe, recover from the day. "To do this, have a daily ritual that helps you relax," says New York City psychologist Janice D. Bennett, PhD. Try reading a book, doing some yoga, or taking a long shower. 2. Ban the box. Passing out in front of the TV is not going to inspire a whole lot of lovin'. "If you want to wind down together, switch it off," Bennett says. Instead: Head outside for a walk, listen to some tunes, or eat out. 3. Have a plan. "If you're both looking forward to a date set up for that evening, the daily grind won't get to you as much," says Bennett. Knowing there's a little sugar at the end of the work day makes it all more tolerable. 4. Get naked. Nothing will boost your bond (and distract you from the job)
like getting nude together. But skip the candles and soft music (boring!).
"Really paying attention to each other will inspire closeness and romance," explains Bennett. Coming soon -- I'll be in the November issue too, discussing how not to commit early relationship suicide. So stay posted!
